What an exchange program with international students brought to the Ginowan Junior High students : awareness and change in consciousness

One of the current topics in elementary, junior high and high school is focused on multi-lingual and multi-cultural education and it can be argued that one of the goals and roles of Japanese education overlaps with their focus; Japanese education can contribute to promote the multi -lingual/cultural education and Japanese learners would be able to have feedback from these schools. This paper will show how Ginowan junior high school students evaluated the cultural exchange program and what kinds of change and awareness were created in them. By examining the results, It will be concluded that "learning together, educating together" is the key notion for both the Japanese students and international students
