The Hague Conference on Private International Law is an intergovernmental organization that was founded in 1893. It operates under the auspices of the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The goal of the Hague Conference is to develop and unify the rules of Private International Law. The Hague Conference is a forum for member states where common rules of private international law are developed and incorporated into legislation. In addition, the Hague Conference aims to promote international judicial and administrative cooperation in the fields of protection of the family, children, civil proceedings, and trade law.
