Background: Heart failure is a progressive health problem with high mortality and morbidity, both in developed and developing countries. The World Health Organization (WHO) in 2016, said that 17.5 million people died from cardiovascular disease in 2008, accounting for 31% of the world's deaths. Data from basic health research (Riskesdas) of the Indonesian Ministry of Health in 2018, the prevalence of heart failure disease in Indonesia based on doctor diagnosis is estimated at 1.5% or estimated at 29,550 people. Objective: This study aims to identify the physical function of people with heart failure and social characteristicsrespondent's odemography. Method: This study is a type of quantitative research with descriptive design. Quantitative research methods are used to examine specific populations or samples. Quantitative is expressed in the form of numbers. Descriptive research designs describe and analyze each study variable based on the results taken from the population accurately and systematically. Retrieval of research data using a descriptive approach to the survey. The research method uses nonprobability sampling with purposive sampling techniques. Research results: The majority of respondents with a male gender were 55.8% and the physical function of doing heavy work was difficult with many difficulties (44.9%) and unable to do the number (35%). An overview of the physical function of heart failure performed light work with little difficulty (43.3%) and without any difficulty (55.8%). Conclusion: An overview of the physical function of heart failure finds it difficult to do hard work
