In Alzheimer’s disease, tauopathy spreading is highly correlated with the progression of cognitive symptoms in patient’s brain. Thus, targeting the mechanisms implicated in the spreading of pathological tau would be a valuable therapeutic strategy. The aim of this project was to develop a new in vivo model to study the spreading of tau and identify the molecular and cellular actors involved, and particularly the role of microglia in this phenomenon.
