This thesis focuses on the application of ultrafast ultrasound imaging for the evaluation of cerebral vascular function and functional connectivity in the context of monitoring neonatal pathologies. Preterm birth (before 37 weeks of gestation) is often associated with cerebrovascular disruption that can lead to detectable brain lesions in the weeks following birth. However, their detection is not sufficient to predict severe neurodevelopmental disorders (cerebral palsy, autism, hyperactivity,...) that may result from these lesions. The need to evaluate the vascular function and the cerebral activity of the newborn brain as early as possible is therefore essential to detect abnormalities earlier.
