International assessment studies generally contribute to curriculum reform by highlighting certain aspects of curriculum needing improvement, usually attained though the recognition and application of some studies’ components. By focusing on the question “How have international studies driven school mathematics curriculum reforms?”, this chapter examines the role of international studies TIMSS (Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study) and PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) in reforms in different countries.
