Abstract With an increasing prevalence of hypertension, indoor air‐pollution factors began to attract extensive attention. However, the association of cooking fuel with the incidence of hypertension was inconsistent. The aim of this study was to investigate the association of household air‐pollution caused by cooking fuel with the incidence of hypertension. Data were derived from the China Health and Nutrition Survey. Participants aged 18 years or older were eligible. A validated questionnaire was used to collect the information on the type of cooking fuel, including electricity, natural gas, coal, and wood/charcoal.
