This monument was placed here by the Women's Relief Corps, Department of Ohio Auxiliary to the Grand Army of the Republic and is erected to the "memory of the soldier-sailor dead who were buried here whether their battles were fought on land or sea without regard to color, race, or creed. They are our country's heroes.
