KAJIAN FIQH DAN ASTRONOMI TERHADAP PUTUSAN MAJELIS TARJIH MUHAMMADIYAH MENGENAI KOREKSI KETINGGIAN MATAHARI WAKTU SUBUH -18◦

This research is motivated by changes in the height of the sun at dawn Muhammadiyah. In determining the initial prayer time the position of the sun is the main factor that must be considered, the result is that every different day and different place, the prayer time will also be different. This difference was also found in the initial determination of the dawn prayer time for the 31st Tarjih and Tajdid Muhammadiyah Assembly in December 2020 which had corrected the height of the sun at dawn which had been set, namely from -20 degrees corrected to -18 degrees. Based on the National Conference, Muhammadiyah concluded that -20◦ needed to be corrected and considered -18◦ to be a more accurate number. The formulation of the problem in this study is why the Muhammadiyah Tarjih Council corrected the height of the sun at dawn and how fiqh and astronomy reviews the correction of the sun's height at dawn in the decision of the Tarjih Muhammadiyah Council. The type of research that the writer uses is library research using a qualitative approach. The results of this study concluded that the correction to the change in the beginning of Fajr time for Muhammadiyah occurred because of the issue that Fajr time in Indonesia was too early 24 minutes. This happens because there is writing that raises the issue. Given this issue, Muhammadiyah gave instructions to three institutions to conduct research. Then produce a different research and the value chosen is -18◦. The early dawn time set by the Muhammadiyah Tarjih Council based on fiqh studies is still a problem. Dawn is astronomically marked by the dimming light of the stars on the eastern horizon. that is according to the opinion of the majority of scholars, which ranges from 18 degrees to 20 degrees below the horizon
