Rumput laut Sargassum Polycistum termasuk dalam golongan alga coklat (Phaeophyceae) yang memiliki potensi dalam mengakumulasi logam berat Pb dan Cd. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan kadar logam berat Pb dan Cd yang terakumulasi pada rumput laut Sargassum Polycistum. Metode yang digunakan adalah proses destruksi basah dengan pelarut berupa HNO3 : H2O2 (6:2) sebanyak 30 mL: 10 mL. Larutan hasil destruksi yang diperoleh dianalisis konsentrasinya menggunakan SSA (Spektrofotometer Serapan Atom). Hasil yang didapatkan dalam penelitian kadar logam Pb dan Cd pada rumput laut Sargassum Polycistum, sebesar <0,0001 mg/Kg dan 0,0004 mg/Kg.
