WOS: 0001840168000292nd International Symposium on Fig -- MAY 07-11, 2001 -- CACERES, SPAINThe research project was started in 1980's With the aim of developing fig production through selecting varieties suitable for fresh consumption. 272 edible fig cultigens were selected and evaluated in respect to maturation period, fruit quality, need for caprification and yield. As a result of a three-years evaluation, promising fresh varieties were selected. Quality was evaluated according to the weighted-rankit method, and 31 varieties were determined as promising due to their high scores.
