The main objective of this thesis was to study on Cd removal from phosphoric acid solution using both strong acid ion exchange resin Purolite CT-175 containing sulfonic groups and, solvent impregnated resins with Cyanex 302 and with Aliquat 336. The aim, with the inclusion of experimental data on U, was achieved by determining kinetic and equilibrium properties of both ion exchange (Purolite CT-175 and Purolite S940) and solvent impregnated resins. Five kinetic models have been applied to fit the data obtained by a series of batch experiments to find the mass transfer mechanism of the process.
