ASSISTÊNCIA AO IDOSO: A IMPORTÂNCIA DO CUIDADO HUMANIZADO DA ENFERMAGEM.

Introduction: Ageing is a natural process that involves physical, social and emotional changes. The increase in the elderly population in Brazil is a clear phenomenon, making it crucial to understand this process and promote healthy ageing. Objective: To identify the importance of humanized care for the elderly, with a view to improving care for this population. Methodology: A narrative, descriptive and exploratory review, using the Virtual Health Library to search for articles in the last five years (2018-2022) related to elderly care: the importance of humanized nursing care. Results: 14 articles were found, 4 of which met the inclusion criteria. The articles analyzed highlight the promotion of active and healthy aging and also emphasize the importance of care for the elderly. Discussion: The adversities of ageing and nursing care and nursing practices to promote active and healthy ageing. Conclusion: One of the roles of nursing in the face of humanized care for the elderly should be the implementation of attitudes aimed at supporting and treating this patient in a particular way, humanized care is characterized by attention, dialogue and qualified listening between the professional and the user, valuing them, covering them in an integral, holistic and human way.Introdução: O envelhecimento é um processo natural que envolve mudanças físicas, emocionais e sociais. O aumento da população idosa no Brasil é um fenômeno evidente, tornando crucial a compreensão desse processo e a promoção de um envelhecimento saudável. Objetivo: Identificar a importância da assistência humanizada aos idosos, visando aprimorar o atendimento a essa população.  Metodologia: Revisão do tipo narrativa, de caráter descritivo exploratório, utilizando a Biblioteca Virtual da Saúde para buscar artigos nos últimos cinco anos (2018-2022) relacionados a assistência ao idoso: a importância do cuidado humanizado da enfermagem. Resultados: Foram encontrados 14 artigos, dos quais 4 atenderam aos critérios de inclusão. Os artigos analisados destacam a promoção do envelhecimento ativo e saudável e ressaltam ainda, a importância da assistência à pessoa idosa. Discussão: As adversidades do envelhecimento, o cuidado do enfermeiro e as práticas de enfermagem para a promoção do envelhecimento ativo e saudável. Conclusão: Um dos papeis da enfermagem diante do cuidado humanizado da pessoa idosa deve ser a execução de atitudes que visam apoiar e tratar  este paciente de maneira particular, o atendimento humanizado caracteriza-se por atenção, diálogo e uma escuta qualificada entre o profissional e o usuário valorizando-o, abrangendo de forma integral, holística e humana
