Desain Molasses Storage Tank dan Analisis Kekuatan terhadap Wind Load, Hydrostatic Load dan Combination Load

Abstract – The by-product of sugar production (molasses) in South Sulawesi increased as a result of the addition of sugar production capacity. So this factory need a molasses storage tank. The design of the tank design will refer to the API 650 Thirteenth Edition standard, March 2020. The steps being worked on are calculating the minimum wall thickness of the tank components. Based on the calculation,  the actual thickness values ??are obtained as follows: course 1 = 18 mm, course 2 = 16 mm, course 3 = 14 mm, course 4 = 12 mm, course 5 = 10 mm, course 6 = 8 mm, course 7 = 6 mm and course 8 = 6 mm. Then make a 3D modeling design and carry out a simulation to find out the maximum value of the equivalent stress and deformation using the Inventor Software. For the completion of the stability of the tank can be said to be stable so it does not require anchorage. Based on the simulation that has been carried out, it is obtained that equivalent stress value is 13.62 MPa and the deformation value is 0.873 mm against wind loads, equivalent stress value is 133 MPa and the deformation value is 9.758 mm against hydrostatic loads and equivalent stress value is 132.5 MPa and the deformation of 9.694 mm against combination load. From the simulation results, this tank design can be said to be safe because the maximum stress value is less than the material allowable stress value (ASTM A36)
