This study raises the issue of the legal power of thumbprints as signatures in notarial deeds. This writing uses normative juridical research methods. Normative juridical legal research, namely research obtained from legal principles, data that already exists and has been documented in the form of legal materials, or is called library research, legislation, legal theories, as well as the opinions of leading legal scholars. The results of this study note that affixing a thumbprint can be said to be the same as affixing a signature, it's just that it must be confirmed in the deed of the reasons for using affixing a thumbprint.
