XANTHOGRANULOMATOUS CHOLECYSTITIS - A RARE HISTOLOGICAL VARIANT

  ABSTRACT  Xanthogranulomatous cholecystitis (XGC) is a rare presentation of chronic cholecystitis, characterized by xanthogranuloma, severe foam cells and fibrosis, and can be an inducement of difficulty in cholecystectomy. Here, we describe four cases of cholecystitis which were diagnosed postoperatively to have Xanthogranulomatous inflammation in the Gall Bladder on Histopathological examination. &nbsp
