Pengaruh Diabetes Self Management Education (DSME) Terhadap Self Care Penderita Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2

ABSTRACT Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is one of the non-communicable diseases that requires special attention and long-term care, so we need proper self-care management to prevent complications. Diabetes Self Management Education (DSME) is one of the most important efforts in optimizing good diabetes management, which can improve patients' knowledge, skills, and self-care abilities. The main purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Diabetes Self Management Education (DSME) on self-care of type 2 DM patients. This study used quasy-experimental design with pre-test and post-test. Sempel was taken using a nonprobability sampling technique (purposive sampling) with a total of 64 sempels divided into two groups, 32 experimental groups and 32 control groups. The data were analyzed using the Paired Sample t-test and Independent sample t-test. The results of this study showed that the P value of the Paired Sample t-test in the intervention group was 0.000, while the P value of the Independent sample t-test was 0.000 p < α; α = 0.05) which showed that there was a significant difference in the value of self-care between the intervention group and the control group. The conclusion of this study is that there is an effect of Diabetes Self Management Education (DSME) on self-care of type 2 DM patients. ABSTRAK Diabetes Melitus (DM) merupakan salah satu penyakit tidak menular yang memerlukan perhatian khusus dan perawatan jangka panjang, sehingga diperlukan managemen perawatan diri yang baik untuk mencegah terjadinya komplikasi. Diabetes Self Management Education (DSME) merupakan salah satu upaya yang sangat penting dalam mengoptimalkan pengelolaaan diabetes yang baik, yang dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan kemampuan perawatan diri pasien. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh Diabetes Self Management Education (DSME) terhadap self-care pasien DM tipe 2. Penelitian ini menggunakan quasy-experimental design dengan pre-test dan post-test. Sempel diambil menggunakan teknik nonprobability sampling (purposive sampling) dengan jumlah sempel 64 yang dibagi menjadi dua kelompok, 32 orang kelompok eksperimen dan 32 orang kelompok kontrol. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji Paired salmple t-test dan Independent sample t-test. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa P value uji Paired salmple t-test pada kelompok intervensi sebesar 0,000 sedangkan P value uji Independent sample t-test adalah 0,000 (p < α ; α = 0,05) yang menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan nilai self care antara kelompok intervensi dengan kelompok kontrol secara signifikan. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat pengaruh Diabetes Self Management Education (DSME) terhadap self care penderita DM tipe 2.
