The violent scenarios in present day society urgently require the development of socio-affective processes, because emotions and feelings are focal points in the formation of values. The objective of this study was to explore the social-affective processes that, in the school environment, could be contributing to the learning and practice of values in Basic Education II students. It was based on theoretical contributions of Rogers (2003), Goleman (2001), Vigotsky (2000), Heller (1998) and others. The mixed methodological focus merited the direct observation technique and written registry of observations; 198 students and 6 teachers at the Monsignor Godoy Basic School located in the Maracaibo municipality acted as informants.
