The Philosophy of Benedictus of Spinoza was an attempt to be beyond the substantial dualism since the beginning, that it radically opposed body and mind. With the intention of contesting the philosophical statements that they sustained this separation among body and mind. Spinoza leaves of his conception of the only substance, composed by infinites attributes, formulated in the First Part of the Ethics, to build his definitions of body and mind, demonstrating his theory, and contesting the conceptions in opposite.
