This article presents the contributions of the supervised internship in early childhood education in the training of beginning teachers, with the aim of reflecting on teacher training when starting out in practice, making it possible to get to know the daily lives of teachers who work in the first stage of basic education, and understanding the challenges that surround their performance, and the construction of their professional identity, based on an experience lived during the Pedagogy degree course at the Vale do Acaraú State University (UVA), in Sobral, Ceará.
