This is a report of a graduating project that involved a qualitative action-based research inquiry where children take on the role of co-researchers. It explores the ways in which we (students and teacher) used a newly re-wilded school ground to understand and experience nature. Throughout the school year, the nature-based inquiries conducted by students were documented in teacher journals, student artwork, student writings, and nature photographs. The Photovoice method was modified to develop a sense of wonder about the natural world. Situated in the research literature of ecology, eco-literacy, nature and place-based learning, it tells the story of taking students outside on a regular basis to reconnect with their home, the natural world....
