Literatura infantil y mediación lectora: Concepciones y creencias del profesorado en formación

As part of their professional self-recognition, some language and literature teachers face the need to reconstruct their reading autobiography during their university studies. In this context, this work seeks to identify the declared beliefs of some teachers in training about the meaning of children's literature for them. In methodological terms, a semi-structured interview was designed and implemented to find out what the respondents understood by children’s literature and what they deemed to be experiences regarding children's literary reading mediation. This design follows a hermeneutic aim framed within the qualitative approach to education research and it is adapted to the study of beliefs associated with teacher thinking. As a result, we noticed two emergent categories: one related to the global conception of children's literature and the other to the corpus associated by the informants of this concept. In conclusion, these testimonies 1) draw attention to classic debates such as the pedagogical function of children’s literature or its autonomy within the "greater body of literature", 2) confirm the hypothesis regarding the hegemony of the written code over illustration and orality, and 3) point to experiences of mediation that are not very memorable, with a predominance of classical narrative, scarcely focused on the deep interpretation of works and without any clear orientation towards aesthetic delight.Como parte de su autorreconocimiento profesional, algunos maestros de lengua y literatura enfrentan la necesidad de reconstruir su autobiografía lectora en su paso por la universidad. En este contexto, se busca reconocer las creencias que algunos profesores en formación declaran acerca de lo que, para ellos, significa la literatura infantil. Metodológicamente, se diseñó y se implementó una entrevista semiestructurada para saber lo que los informantes entienden por literatura infantil, y lo que destacan como experiencia sobre mediación de lectura literaria infantil. Este diseño responde a una pretensión hermenéutica enmarcada en el enfoque cualitativo de la investigación educativa y, particularmente, se ajusta al estudio de creencias del tipo: pensamiento del profesor. Como resultado, advertimos dos categorías emergentes: una referida a la concepción global sobre literatura infantil, y otra al corpus asociado por los informantes a dicha concepción. En conclusión, estos testimonios: a) vuelven la atención sobre debates clásicos como el de la función pedagógica de la literatura infantil o el de su autonomía dentro de “la gran literatura”; b) confirman la hipótesis de la hegemonía del código escrito, por encima de la ilustración y de la oralidad; y 3) señalan experiencias de mediación poco memorables, con predominio de la narrativa clásica, escasamente centradas en la interpretación profunda de las obras, y sin ninguna orientación clara hacia el deleite estético
