Hands on: from the history of construction to commissioning of a timbervault

This communication presents a transversal pedagogical practice that moves from one area of knowledge to another within the degree in architecture at the San Jorge University, starting in subjects of culture and theory of architecture and continuing in construction subjects. With the timbervault as the main theme of the activity, the reasons for its use throughout history are internalized and its past and recent applications are known, to then project the design of an element that will be built at a scale of 1:1. For this purpose, teachers and students of the Construction Technician Degree of the Fundación Laboral de la Construcción have collaborated in the project. University students and vocational training students join together as a team to achieve the final product, mutually valuing their role in the construction process while living together in a real construction site experience.Esta comunicación presenta una práctica pedagógica transversal que pasa de un área de conocimiento a otra dentro del grado en arquitectura de la Universidad San Jorge, iniciándose en asignaturas de cultura y teoría de la arquitectura y continuando en materias de construcción. Con la bóveda tabicada como tema principal de la actividad, se interiorizan las razones de su utilización a lo largo de la historia y se conocen sus aplicaciones pasadas y recientes, para a continuación proyectar el diseño de un elemento que será construido a escala 1:1. Para ello se ha contado con la colaboración de profesores y alumnos del Grado Medio de Técnico en Construcción de la Fundación Laboral de la Construcción. Estudiantes universitarios y de formación profesional se unen en equipo para la consecución del producto final, valorando mutuamente su papel en el proceso constructivo mientras conviven en una experiencia de obra real.Peer Reviewe
