Although suicide rates in Lithuania are declining, the male suicide rate remains one of the highest in the world. From a global perspective, researchers suggest that male suicide is closely linked to prevailing masculine norms that encourage certain suicide-risk behaviours. However, there is a lack of research examining masculinity not only as a stereotypical behaviour but also as men's self-concept. The aim of this thesis is to assess the association of different aspects of masculinity with suicide risk.
