Development of universities teaching staff, 1864 to 1953

The present study provides information on the development of the teaching staff of German universities and colleges from 1865 to 1953. The material tables are based on a personnel index of all university teachers at the institutions of the respective German Reich territory. The study focuses on the development of university science and its personnel problems from the middle of the 19th century until the World War I.Die vorliegende Studie gibt Auskunft über die Entwicklung des Lehrkörpers der deutschen Universitäten und Hochschulen von 1865 – 1953. Grundlage der Materialtabellen bildet eine Personalkartei aller Hochschullehrer an den Anstalten des jeweiligen deutschen Reichsgebiets. Im Mittelpunkt der Studie steht die Darstellung der Entfaltung der Universitätswissenschaften und ihrer personellen Probleme von der Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts bis zum Ersten Weltkrieg
