Interviews took places across four city regions, two within Wales and two within England. Interviews focused on the role of civil society within discourses of economic development and devolution. This project examined how different city regions are implementing policies related to a localism agenda. It was particularly interested in what this means for economic development and civil society. Stakeholders were interviewed in relation to the development of city-regions in Wales and England. This proposal is for a National Research Centre (WISERD/Civil Society) to undertake a five year programme of policy relevant research addressing Civil Society in Wales.
