Ethical discussion groups were set up in the autumn of 2021 at the Eugène-Marquis Centre in Rennes, the only regional cancer treatment centre in Brittany (France). Supervised by the medical oncologist, in charge of the ethical structure, and a philosopher, a teacher in the field of applied ethics, these groups met to study clinical situations experienced at the centre and suggested by the participants. This article presents the situation of a Comorian patient, suffering from a rare gynaecological cancer, with whom communication proved to be delicate and questions emerged around an intercultural issue.
