Background: Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) is a chronic autoimmune condition, that causes joint pain and inflammation in young people. A diagnosis of JIA brings with it a unique set of challenges including treatment regimes, parental stress, and physical limitations. Although there is no cure, it is typically managed with immunosuppressant medication, the most common being the medication Methotrexate (MTX).
