Background: Kidins220 (Kinase D Interacting Substrate 220) also known as ARMS (ankyrin repeat-rich membrane spanning) is a transmembrane protein that plays a significant role in neuronal development. It acts as the common downstream effector of neuronal signalling regulated by neurotrophin family including nerve growth factor (NGF) and brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF).
