The objective of our review is to assess the evidence regarding the effectiveness of long-term antibiotic treatment regimens for chronic S. aureus (MSSA) infection in people with CF. The primary objectives are to assess this in relation to lung function, sputum clearance of S. aureus and incidence of any adverse effects. The secondary objectives are to assess this in relation to the quality of life and incidence of acute pulmonary exacerbations and assess evidence for effects on nutrition and new isolation of bacterial pathogens including P. aeruginosa
