A high Electric Vehicle (EV) uptake is anticipated in the forthcoming years. Some concerns of vehicle users in switching from conventional internal combustion engine vehicles to Electric Vehicles, relate to distance range anxiety and the time required to recharge the EV batteries. The battery swapping station concept, which consists of replacing depleted batteries for fully charged batteries (in minutes), may incentivise EV adoption by having a similar role to that of petrol stations.
