The excavation of a trench across the north aisle and nave of St Andrew’s the Great, Cambridge, revealed the remains of low density extra-mural activity on the site. The area occupied by the present north aisle may have been used as a cemetery until the building of the present church. A sequence of floors associated with the present church was also exposed, suggesting it had been raised to its present level
