An archaeological investigation was carried out at the Old Cavendish Laboratories, Free School Lane, Cambridge. Evidence was found of Saxo-Norman yard surfaces and a ditch was well as walls and floors of the Medieval Austin Friary. The post-dissolution development of the site was the construction of a cellared house and the Cavendish Laboratory
