Domestic work and caring for girls, elderly and sick women by rural women creates added value and economic wealth; it develops the care economy to address the needs of the family and ensures social equilibrium in the political aspect. The value of housewives’ work in México is equivalent, in millions, to 21 % of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), above the contribution by the construction segment. The time and effort invested by rural women is equivalent to four working days per day to tend to their household, job, family and agricultural and livestock production.
