Oral History Interview with William Frushour, May 24, 2006

The National Museum of the Pacific War presents an oral interview with William V. Frushour. Born in Fulton County, Indiana 25 October 1921, Frushour graduated from high school in 1939 and attended St. Joseph’s College for two years. Upon being drafted in 1942, he went to Camp Grant, Illinois for basic training. After completion, he was sent to Camp Carson, Colorado for basic medical training. Upon completion of the medical training he was assigned to the 31st General Hospital. He went aboard a Dutch freighter for a 33 day trip to Noumea, New Caledonia then to Espiritu Santos where they built a hospital. Later he was sent to the Philippines, serving with the 7th Evacuation Hospital, which was near the front lines. He tells of some of his medical experiences while serving in the evacuation hospital.
