Studies on the Effects of Heat Treatment on the Properties of Amilan (VI)：On the Mechanism of Thermal Shrinkages.

For the purpose of investigating the mechanism of thermal shrinkages of Amilan as an aid in evaluating the particular temperature dependence of heating effects, the authors subjected the cold drawn samples of Amilan to dry heat treatments. The thermal shrinkages are thought to the molecule which occurs when molecules of lower M. W. were dissolved and recrystallized. There seem to appear three different behaviors which correspond to the transition of structures brought about at the respective temperatures by heat treatment
