Burnishing is work shop method,using a blunt smooth tool, for smoothing and polishing a rough surface by pressure and not by removing any part of the body. 1n the previous paper we reported the burnishing which was one of the most ecxpenditious methods of polishing. But the burnishing by a lathe is not always easy for the friction and work hardening characteristics. The authors tried to give to the burnishing tool the ultrasonic vibration,protecting the seizure and promoting the work deformation, and we named this working process the ULTRASONIC BURNISHING.
