AC exciting Characteristics

In case of the design of electrical machines，magnetic material plays the most important part in relation with electrial performances and economical problems. Therefore，magnetic material general1y used for cores of electrical machines must be used effectively on the view of cost/performance. For this subject of the design， we need to know electrical properties of magnetic material， that is， cores，and to know a relation of these properties and performances of actual machines. Usually most of cores are driving with an alternating current. But a relation of electrical properties of cores and performances of actual machines is not clear in this driving method，so cal1ed AC exciting. As far as we know，there is not any studies to explain this relation. ln this paper， we have developed the quasi-theoretical relation of cores and an electrical machine， especially a transformer made from the C-type or E-type cut core. And we have had some useful conclusions for the design of transformer and for the method of evalution on its perfomance. Moreover，we have also tried to compared the JIS with IEC by use of our results，where both JIS and IEC were treated with only the standard concerning the cut core
