The aim of this thesis was to develop a performance-contingent reward system for the commissioner company. The thesis examined factors influencing employee performance and motivation. The theoretical framework of the thesis consists of performance and reward management. The thesis was based on the assignment by the commissioner company to create a reward system in the company. The purpose for investigating employees’ opinions on both the performance appraisal process and employee rewards was to help reduce resistance and increase commitment to the performance-based reward system.
