<Original>FACTORS RELATED TO SELF-EDUCATIONAL POWER IN NURSING STUDENTS : With the Focus on the Level of Self-esteem

The purpose of the present study was to determine how the level of self-esteem affects the ability to educate oneself. We researched the 89 students in a nursing school. The results were as follows; 1. Self-education IV was significantly related to self-esteem, which was an important concept as the psychological foundation of self-educational power. 2. Students with high levels of self-esteem tended to be highly capable of educating themselves, whereas students with lower of self-esteem tended to be less able to educate themselves. 3. In the level of self-esteem, factors in which differences were noted were volition, a sense of achievement, teacher's evaluation and birth order. 4. Self-acceptance and maladjustment to human relations were factors affecting the level of self-esteem
