The thesis concentrates on three Dominican convents located in the territory of today's northern Bohemia. It includes the convents in Litoměřice, Ústí nad Labem and Jablonné v Podještědí. The timeframe is defined by the reign of Maria Theresia and her son Joseph II., approximately from 1740 to 1790. This thesis focuses on the relationships between the convents and their surroundings (especially towns of various types and sizes), which are described through various specific topics. The thesis concerns with narrative sources of monastic provenance, with the situation of the convents during wars and with the peregrination of the friars between the convents.
