In this yarn I will share my current Indigenous research and preliminary findings working with Aboriginal girls in Australian boarding schools. Underpinned by Martin’s (2003) relatedness theory, this paper explores the development of Photoyarn, an Indigenous research method and how it is allowing Aboriginal students, as co-researchers to produce images based on their boarding school experiences. This paper includes discussion of preliminary data, analysis, and findings, and considers the use of Photoyarn as a new Indigenous research method, with and by researchers and participants employing Indigenous research methodologies today
