The aim of this study is to find out to what extent and for what purpose teachers of deaf students use storytelling and what are the images they construct of this practice. For this purpose, a semi-structured questionnaire, with multiple-choice questions and discursive, mandatory and non-mandatory questions, was prepared on Google Forms and applied to teachers of the deaf. The questions, divided into six sections, address the teacher's profile and askings about storytelling. It was found that teachers use storytelling in Brazilian Sign Language (BSL) for pedagogical purposes, especially to enhance the cognitive and linguistic development of deaf students.
