This article offers a reflection on the struggle for the common/s that emerged from the dialogue between the extractivist movement and the indigenous movement in Brazil in the 1980s, constituting the so-called Aliança dos Povos da Floresta. The objective is to evaluate the historical significance of this experience of environmental, labour and indigenous activism, as an integral part of the political ecology of the common/s. One of the fundamental characteristics of capitalism is environmental degradation and the annihilation of the common/s, understood as a non-commodified relationship between work and nature, based on autonomous, subsistence and eco-sufficient modes of production.
