Font Posters, an Exploration of Typographic Classification and Anatomy

Typography, the incorporation of type, is one of the key components that can impact the success of a project. Despite this, typography is something people either shy away from or completely neglect within a project. Given the opportunity to demonstrate the importance of typography, two poster designs were created to show the anatomy of two distinctly different typefaces. For this project, in-depth research was pivotal in designing a set of posters that balanced the aesthetic appeal and legibility of a design. The selection of fonts set the tone for the entire project. Use of thumbnail sketches formed the foundation of the digital iterations that led to the final design.
