This article aims to analyze the poem from the Poetic Edda, called Völuspa, which deals with the origin and end of the world in the view of the Scandinavian peoples of the Viking Age, affirming its eschatological concepts. In this way, a parallel will be made between the events that occurred in this work, with the communities themselves, seeking points that portray them, from their mentality to their daily life. Some points will be highlighted, such as the importance of women for religious practices, the war-oriented society, as well as the appreciation of knowledge, mostly in the figure of Óðinn.
