Inégalités d’accessibilité à l’emploi en transport collectif urbain : deux décennies d’évolutions en banlieue lyonnaise

This article aims to analyze the evolution of job accessibility inequality by public transport between districts in the Lyon conurbation over a period of twenty years (1985 – 2006). This is done by distinguishing the effects of the development of the public transport network from the effects of employment dynamics. Focusing on the different socioeconomic structures of the peripheral districts, we test the hypothesis that changes in accessibility are disadvantageous to the poorer districts. The accessibility is measured using a gravity model. Travel times are derived from a modeled public transport network for 1985 and 2006 and employment data comes from the SIRENE database (INSEE). The accessibility is generally improved between 1985 and 2006, but in a heterogeneous way between districts and socio-economic status.Dans un contexte de renforcement de la polarisation sociale et des inégalités socio-spatiales au sein des espaces urbains, l’accessibilité géographique à l’emploi représente un enjeu majeur. Cet article vise à analyser l’évolution de l’inégalité d’accessibilité à l’emploi en transport en commun entre les quartiers de l’agglomération lyonnaise sur une période de vingt ans (1985 – 2006), en distinguant l’effet du développement du réseau de celui des dynamiques de l’emploi. En nous focalisant sur des quartiers périphériques de structures socio-économiques distinctes, nous testons l’hypothèse selon laquelle les évolutions seraient moins favorables aux quartiers pauvres. L’accessibilité est mesurée à partir d’un indicateur gravitaire.
