Les rapports entre artisanat des matières dures animales et de boucherie à Valence : état de la question

International audienceVarious excavations and trenches that were carried out in the city of Valence (Drôme) offer new evidences of bone working from the second hand of 1st Century BC to the second hand of the 4th Century AD. The link between craftsmen and their raw materials supply, in connexion with butchers’ work, is discussed thanks to archaeozoological analysis. It’s a first step in the understanding of crafts in roman colonia of Valentia.Plusieurs fouilles et sondages menés sur la commune de Valence (Drôme) ont livré des indices du travail de l’os s’échelonnant entre la seconde moitié du Ier s. av. J.-C. et la seconde moitié du IVe s. ap. J.-C. La confrontation de ces données avec les analyses archéozoologiques disponibles permet d’aborder le travail de ces artisans, et notamment leur mode d’approvisionnement en matière première en lien avec l’activité des bouchers,pour la colonie de Valentia où les activités artisanales restent encore peu documentées
