This empirical study deals with the construction of a learning community in anonline non-collaborative distance course. It is assumed that tutors play an important role inthe community-building process. The methodology is based on discourse analysis, the corpusbeing pedagogical interactions in context of an online masters course in French as a foreignlanguage. This Course is proposed by virtual campus and aims at training teachers. Tutorialinterventions and their effects will be analysed in depth.
