The aim of this thesis is to better understand the relevance of “institutional affectivity” (AI) (Araujo, 2009) in order to explain the role played by organizational culture as a determinant of mental health problems in the workplace. The study was born from a first work entitled Research on institutional affectivity carried out in Master 2, in Brazil. Our idea to take up this subject lies in the richness of the questions it raises, which is confirmed by the following paradox: the increase in psychosocial risks associated with an insufficient commitment by companies to prevention, combined with a strong need to implement managerial practices that promote a job well done.
